The Way We Experience Everything
It was a delight to participate in a Tantra and Yoga Immersion at Kripalu last week. The teachings are like seeds that take root and grow, create more seeds containing their essence, find a way to propel themselves out into the world, and when conditions are right, the essence once again comes to life. The word Tantra is linguistically a weaving. The Tantra tells us that the degree to which we experience anything, is the degree to which we experience everything. As we weave together all that is manifest for our awakening, being present in the mind and dwelling in the body, all of our experiences unfold greater wisdom and understanding of the nature of reality.
This sense of being woven, each of us, into the universal heart is empowering and healing. It is never easy to say the final goodbye to the people who have become woven into the fabric of our lives. But even profound sense of loss can be a doorway to the maharasa, the current that underlies all emotion, and this current is love. The integrity of the weaving becomes evident when we face mortality. I am grateful to be part of this community, where the end of life can be honored in such a loving way.
