Thriving in the Abundance of Autumn

This fall season, the apple trees were abundantly loaded, having awakened in the spring, taken in the rain and nutrients from the earth, blossomed for the bees, basked and ripened round in the glorious summer sunshine, and now release their fruit. Giving freely to any passerby, two legged, four legged, or winged, a pure, juicy and nourishing offering. Like the apple tree, life itself is inherently nourishing if we can truly receive the abundance. We are built to survive, but is that enough to satisfy the seeker of deep experience? What would life be like if we could move past getting by and really thrive? What would life be like if we could move past getting by and really thrive? Why is this something to desire? What would your life look like if you stepped deeper into nature's rhythms?

This process of inquiry naturally arises when you have practiced yoga, and in your practice have experiences of transformation, of the transient nature of states of mind and body. This body and perspective you had unknowingly taken to be solid and immovable, can open, shift, and change. You are evolving! Support your evolution by taking a few moments each day to sit quietly (you can call it meditation if you want!), and simply become aware of your breath, and then watching your awareness. Set a timer for one minute, and see what happens. Try it daily for a week, maybe a month. Put a gold star on your calendar each day you try it. Let’s see what can happen!
